Sunday painters

A quick sketch this morning of some lovely poppies which have sprung up in the garden.

Aloe there!

In this last weekend passed I had a great desire to paint an aloe vera plant, I think form seeing one when I was out walking. This is what I came up with. Because I was just painting from google images it might not be that botanically correct. And because it was too big to scan I had to take photos of it, so the colours look a bit weird.

Trying to find something to do with it now...

Homies

I thought as an exercise I might painting my houseplants, I have quite a collection now. This one is a Calethea Zebrina, it lives in the bathroom next to the mirror. It's velvety stripy leaves are now sprinkled with tiny white spots from vigorous tooth-brushing.

Hi Hydrangeas

It's summer and these granny hats are blooming on roadsides everywhere. This one is for an absent friend.

gooseberry lantern

Here's a couple of sketches I did the other day, I've got some cape gooseberries growing in the garden, their fruits look so muck like little lanterns.
