I've made an instructional zine zine for the Auckland Storylines, where I'll be on Sunday, teaching the kids how to zine, more info on that here. I'll also put the pages up here if anyone wants to print em out and make them yourself, just at a time that I'm not running out the door!

Here's a little birthday painting I did for a good friend of her cat re-imagined as a boxing champ.

He's a tough guy with a heart of gold and an excellent withering look (see below).

Celeryman

It's National Poetry Day so in honour of this occasion I'm releasing the master copy of my Celeryman poem (actually called Mr Celery but I'm renaming it Celeryman). Print it out and make your own! But please don't sell them, thanks! 

Storylines & workshops

I'll be hosting some workshops at the end of the month, the first is aimed loosely at 8-12 year olds and is a drawing class about giving characters emotions through their poses and facial expressions, I realised I put a lot of effort into this with my characters so hope to pass on some of these skills. This one is at the Papatoetoe library from 2.30-4pm on Saturday the 30th of August and costs $25, more on the workshop here.

The second will be at the Auckland Storylines Family Day on Sunday the 31st of August at the Aotea Centre. I'll be hosting a zine making workshop for kids and we'll have lots of materials to cut and paste and a photocopier and everything! This will be a going all day (10am-3pm) and is free. 

There is lots of other great stuff happening at the Storylines Family Days (which are nationwide) and fun things for kids, so if you have young folk you should come on down.
