Mossopolis cover!

Well its been bloody ages since I put anthing here, been dealing with the perils of flat inspections, a broken wrist and looking for work. This drawing is for the cover of the lovely Nigel Wright's upcoming 7" 'Mossopolis' (not to be confused with Mothopolis, an altogether different place). The first edition is of 200 and that may or may not be all of them so you'd best be quick smart!
For this drawing I looked back to some older drawings; this one was for the National Drawing Awards at Artspace 2008, I did it while in Berlin back in 08.

And these three were for Draw II, the second exhibition in a series dedicated to drawing which was at the late, great Cross Street Studios back in 2008 as well. I did these ones in Portugal if I remember rightly and sent them back from Amsterdam.

I used this one for The High Seas' first gig poster.

Front cover RAP!

The talented Jerome Bihan who compiles the excellent Radio As Paper comic anthology asked me to do the cover for it so this is what I came up with.

It's inspired in part by Michael Mitchell's beautiful cover of The Catcher In The Rye

Jerome is now based in Berlin so the next issue has contributors from Germany, Finland, Belgium, Australia and NZ. Check out the RAP blog here!

Chrizzmas presents

For my almost 3 year old second cousin, Rio. I got it laminated because gouache isn't the most hardy of materials to have around a little one. She actually is very cool too, she loves to do high fives and cheers people and to dance and sing along to Michael Jackson's Bad.

This one is for my mum.

These two are in High Fives, the last show at the High Fives, I did them the night before and morning of the day of installation so they're a bit rushed. I've got to credit my friend Paolo for telling me about Gef the talking mongoose, planning on doing another more elaborate one of him soon. Check out Paolo's amazing stuff here, hold onto your eyeballs!

High Fives!

This is the last exhibition at The High Seas, I've got mixed feelings about closing down, its a bittersweet mix of dread and relief. 

I did this poster but I'm not too keen on it, was a bit of a rushed job. 

The exhibition is up until the 18th but we'll be open right up till christmas, with bigger and bigger discounts on all our lovely books and records.
